1.1. Introduction

The subject of Methods and techniques of qualitative research applied to Social Work allows students to deepen their knowledge of the theoretical-methodological foundations of qualitative research.

Its main contents will bring us closer to the foundations of qualitative research, to the research process from this approach and to the basic techniques and instruments used in qualitative research.

Through these contents, and parallel to the knowledge acquired in other subjects, will be available elements that enable both the analysis and evaluation of research conducted as the design and conduct of qualitative research.

Qualitative research has great relevance for the training of Social Work professionals since it offers the possibility to investigate multiple aspects related to their own professional practice, whose knowledge is not accessible through positivist approaches
